Truck drivers are a key part of transporting products across country
Hauling Freight
Hauling freight can be accomplished in many forms. When most individuals
think of hauling freight, they intimately think of trucking, which is
the main form of shipping. Trucks are on the road twenty-four hours a
day, seven days a week and on most holidays. While most individuals are
familiar with eighteen-wheelers, there are wide varieties of other
trucks, which carry freight.
Flatbed trucks are semi-trailers with no sides and can transport loads,
which do not fit into a standard trailer. This cargo can include trees,
huge pieces of machinery, pre-fabricated bridge components, building
trusses, or other trucks. Convertibles are trailers, which can be used
as either a flatbed or an open top simply by removing the side panels.
These trucks can transport any non-perishable cargo. Box trucks, are
used for hauling freight on a regular basis. Tanker trucks can transport
any liquid cargo from water treatments, solvents, polymers, chemicals,
milk, and gasoline. Furniture vans have specially designed trailers
usually of a drop frame construction for the transportation of furniture
and house hold goods. Car transports also have specialized rigs designed
to transport automobiles. These are only a few of the many varieties of
trucks, which are used to haul goods.
Many drivers work in teams or with a partner, enabling them to cover a
greater amount
of distance before they must stop. Other drivers may only cover a
certain area of the country, giving them more time spent at home as
possible.
No matter the product or the type of truck, truck drivers are a key part
to the transportation of products across the country.
