Domestic Freight Services
Domestic Freight Services like many other businesses have gone
high-tech, meaning that freight brokers must have a greater
technological knowledge than in the past to function successfully in the
shipping industry.
Logistics professionals have to represent the interests of the shipper.
It is, their responsibility to determine if the carrier has appropriate
insurance, and can meet all of the shipper's needs. Brokers are
responsible for using only carriers who have excellent time and safely
records for delivering shipments.
Logistics companies make their profits from contracts. Brokers negotiate
deals, which offer shippers the best possible terms, including any
special needs such as flatbeds, containers, or refrigerated units.
Whatever the mode of transportation, both the shipper and the carrier,
must be satisfied with the profit and agreements.
